Me Complain?

Have you ever had times when it takes a 2x4 to get your attention? Well I suffer from this syndrome often. Well the 2x4 hit me this morning. I have been bombarded the past few days with:
Philippians 2:14-15 14Do all things without grumbling or disputing; 15so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world.
Needless to say, I have a wonderful attitude and didn't need this scripture it must have been a fluke. Not!!!
I have been praying that God would help me to be a better wife and mother and I just knew He was going to send me all kinds of organizational skills to help me keep a better more efficient house. Still praying on the effiency thing, but needless to say it isn't what He had in mind for today.
My morning: Before prayers complained I had to get out of bed, than complained I couldn't find my shoe to put on to walk on the treadmill, than I complained the treadmill made to much noise first thing this morning. Put my ear buds on to listen to worship music on my ipod. I have to admit I was feeling quite good after 25 min. of inspirational music. Than complained as I went up the stairs that I was getting to old for stairs. Than went to make coffee and complained that the kitchen wasn't cleaned to my standards. Than I was totally shocked to hear Big Daddy complain that I didn't buy milk with a far enough experation date and thought, man all I hear is complaining. Not realizing I was the one doing 99.9 percent of the complaining.
Well sat down to eat breakfast, put on the ipod and listened to a wonderful sermon on Titus 2 and the biblical role of women. It started addressing attitude, well conviction over took me and all I could hear was my own voice complaining about everything. I felt like a total idiot! Can't believe I am so hard headed sometimes. I have since apologized to my husband for my attitude this morning. It is pretty bad when you get on your own nerves and don't even realize its you getting on your own nerves.  The scripture that turned my attitude around this morning is:
Titus 2:3-5 3Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good, 4so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, 5to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored. Well that older woman should be me. I have a daughter and I am to help to teach her how to be a godly woman. She didn't get to see me in rare form this morning, but I am sure she has in the past. If I want my children to be godly children than they need a good example, I haven't been. I am not saying my attitude is going to change overnight, but I am sure going to be praying to be more aware of my attitude and to be kind, pure and an encouragement to my husband and children. Not giving up on the efficiency and organizational skills just yet! Cause, if God can save a wretch like me He can do anything through me! AMEN!
May you too, be enlightened today by the Lord.

In honor of my beautiful husband here is the recipe for Big Daddy's favorite :
Stuffed Bell Peppers
4 large bell peppers – any color (Big Daddy prefers red or orange, because they are sweet like him)
1 lb. ground beef
2 garlic cloves, minced
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper (if you like it spicy, just add more)
1 14.5 oz. can diced tomatoes
8 oz sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
1 tablespoon sour cream
1 to 1 ½ cups of Rice
1 cup beef broth

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Cut the tops off and de-seed the peppers and set them aside.
In large skillet brown the ground beef with onions, garlic, salt and peppers just until the beef is
browned and the onions are translucent.
Stir in the tomatoes continue till tomatoes are heated through.
Add in 4 0z. of the cheddar cheese cook until it  is melted .
Take off burner and stir  in sour cream until it is blended thoroughly.
Add in the cooked rice and stuffing mix is done.

Pour the beef broth into a casserole dish large enough to hold your peppers.
Stuff you peppers with mix (don’t be afraid to overstuff) and stand in your dish.
Cover casserole tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 50 to 60 minutes.
Take foil off and spoon some juice from the dish over the peppers.
Cover each stuffed pepper with the remaining 4 oz. of cheese.
Bake another 10 to 15 minutes until the cheese is all melted and bubbly.

I usually just serve with a nice piece of crusty bread and sometimes I add a small side salad.
On their own the peppers are quite filling.

If I know I am going to be pressed for time. I will make the stuffing mix in advance.
On occasions I have left it in the fridge for up to 2 days before using it. This recipe is easily doubled, you just need and extra large skillet.
